The Social Development Department supported key community initiatives and proactively invested ICB dollars in activities which support children and clients of Waycobah. The Head Start program provides milk, breakfast and lunch to children who attend We'koqma'q School and daycare.  The ICB program also funds the Youth Centre, Summer Recreation and Santa Clause Committee.   

Action has been taken to establish a direct deposit system for Social Development Program clients in 2008-09. Those who provide bank account numbers will realize the benefit of having their cheques deposited directly, without delays, a system already in use by the administration.
